Comprehensive Vision and Eye Health Examinations
Annual eye and vision examinations are an important part of preventive health care. Many eye and vision problems have no obvious signs or symptoms. As a result, individuals are often unaware that problems exist. Early diagnosis and treatment of eye and vision problems are important for maintaining good vision and eye health, and when possible, preventing vision loss.
We have the latest technology in eye care including:
Pediatric Eye Care
According to the American Optometric Association (AOA), infants should have their first comprehensive eye exam at 6 months of age. We are part of the AOA "InfantSEE Program," and offer a one-time comprehensive eye exam for infants between the ages of 6 and 12 months , free of charge.
Children then should receive additional eye exams at 3 years of age, and just before they enter kindergarten.
Contact Lens Exams and Fittings
Contact lenses have become more and more popular over the past decade. With the latest advancements in technology, almost anyone can take glasses off even those people who have been told for years that they were not candidates for contact lens wear. Contact lenses are extremely comfortable and when used properly are very safe even for children.
Contact lenses offer a number of advantages over glasses especially for people who are active in sports. If you are interested in or already wear contact lenses, make sure you say so when you schedule your appointment with us. You will be given a comprehensive eye exam, and some additional tests such as an evaluation of your eye's surface, so that we can make sure you receive a proper contact lens fitting.
Corneal Reshaping, or Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT), is a safe, non-surgical and reversible process that uses specially designed CRT® Brand Contact Lenses to gently reshape the surface of your eye during sleep, thereby providing clear vision during the day. This eye-reshaping is similar to what happens in LASIK, but there is no surgery. Corneal Reshaping with CRT Contact Lenses can be an ideal vision correction method for active children, especially those involved in sports, or children who are genetically prone to having their nearsightedness progress year after year. It's also well suited to many adults whose careers or hobbies aren't conducive to wearing glasses or contact lenses.
